"Grand Theft Auto Game Testing"

Grand Theft Auto Game Tester Chat

Shooting RPG's from helicopters! Grand Theft Auto is going to be awesome. That should be the main consensus that runs through peoples minds when they hear a new grand theft auto game is coming out. The carnage, mayhem, free roaming world, cars, guns and hookers, all equal over 50 hours of play time. Yet, it is still hard for me to get excited about the game. This is mostly due to the uncanny amount of glitches, bugs, and problems the game has that are hard for a game tester to get past. It is hard to see the diamond of a game when you can't help but speculate every time a frame rate drops or when your body clips through a wall. I scratch my head as a car hits me and I pop three feet into the air in a standing position. Most gamers are easily distracted from these glitches with an open mind or that they just make the game funny. I on the other hand want to get out my computer and start writing them all down.

This in no ways reflects that Rockstar is a bad company, because that is obviously evident from other games like Manhunt. The Grand Theft Auto series was the proclamation that a badly programmed game can still be a fun game. If the game was only 10 hours people would just say "what a miserable buggy pile that game was." Just like in Manhunt, if you were to instead of sneaking up on a person and killing them in 1 of 2095 ways, you would sneak up on them and give them a present in 1 of 2095 ways, you would say "what a sodding dumb game." Just imagine the look on the enemies face when you surprise them with a puppy dog, they would take the puppy and give up the life of crime. What a great game.
Anyway, I don't know where I was going with that. I am not the only one that feels like this, other Xbox 360 Game testers back in the states say the same thing about the game. I can't help but think about the things they teach us in school of what to point out to game developers and what makes a great game. The newest Grand Theft Auto game has yet to come out but I just wonder if Rockstar has cleaned up their act. I did here that they worked on a lot of aspects of the game, that will greatly improve gameplay.

This article won't damper anybodies play experience since most people haven't been trained to un-play a game. Until you are trained in the ways of game testing play as much Grand Theft Auto you can.
will GTA4 be less buggy?
