There are a ton of events all throughout the year that have to do with games. It can be better for your career to attend a lot of these events and talk to publishers and developers face to face. Check for dates on the following events: E3, E for All, CES, GDC, Game releases, Ubidays, EA Showcase, WCG, VGA, Capcom event, Games convention and even Sony's Gamers Day if you really want to.
