Xbox 360 Game Testing
Testing Games

How hard could game testing be? Well it depends on how dedicated you are to playing video games. It may sound easy to play a given video game for hours, but imagine if you had only a single part of the game to play through and you had to play for hours. Often times this is the case, other times you will be given an entire game to play through and along the way you deliver bugs and glitches. Regardless of what kind of game testing your going to be doing, a good record of gaming through several generations (or consoles) will help your experience. It will give you a better perspective if you started playing all the way back from the 8 bit eras.
The way we play games is much more complex then before. No longer are the days of linear paths on a 2d plane. There are so many possibilities and areas to explore in a given game.
To be good at playing games as a tester you need to think and be creative. It may sound simple but not playing a linear path might trouble some gamers, and I don't mean doing "side quest." Being creative in a game could mean playing one level or area for an hour, when in all actuality it could take you 15 minutes. Try to be versatile with several different types of genres, especially the genres targeted toward the Xbox 360. If you are hired as a freelance Xbox 360 tester, the company won't really know your credentials/qualifications. So all you can do, in order to test more Xbox 360 games and eventually move up or get promoted, is fill out great reports and do great work. So if your in a position where you have only played video games for a year or two, you should really think about what business your getting into before you progress forward.
